WACO, Texas - Baylor's No. 24 women's tennis team handed Texas-Arlington a 7-0 setback Sunday afternoon at the Baylor Tennis Center.
The Bears, now 6-2, have a 5 match winning streak and are 4-0 at home while the Lady Mavericks fall to 0-3.
The doubles point was quickly finished with all three Baylor teams posting wins.
In singles play, the Bears remained strong. Caroline Korsawe blanked UTA's Jessica Shepard 6-0, 6-0 to start off the winning streak.
Freshman Pavla Mesterova was the lone Lady Maverick to force a third set, coming from behing to win the second set 6-2 over Daniela Covello before eventually falling, 6-3, 2-6, 6-1.
Baylor continued to win with Iva Mihaylova earning the match-winning fourth point by defeating Gretel Hach 6-0, 6-2.
Texas-Arlington returns to action March 5 when it plays host to Nicholls State and Southwest Missouri at the UTA Tennis Center.
