Box Score
Illinois' Trevor Huisinga singled home Chris Robinson to break a 2-2 tie and give Illinois a come-from-behind 3-2 win in 11 innings over UTA in college baseball Sunday afternoon at Clay Gould Ballpark.
Illinois (5-3-1) took advantage of an UTA throwing error to tie the game at 2-2 in the top of the eighth inning.
With two outs, Robinson singled to right field and when Dusty Bensko singled through the right side, a throw intended for third base kicked off the base and bounced into foul territory allowing Robinson to score.
The miscue spoiled a solid pitching performance by Jake Baxter who allowed one run - a solo home run by Bensko in the top of the fourth inning to break a scoreless tie - in seven complete innings.
UTA scored all of it runs in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Back-o-back doubles by Brett Lewis and Aaron Battle tied the game at 1-1. UTA took the lead when Battle scored on a dropped flyball by centerfielder Ryan Rogowski.
UTA returns to action Tuesday when they travel to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
