ARLINGTON, Texas - The Texas-Arlington women's tennis team fell in its regular-season finale to #16 TCU, 4-0, Sunday afternoon at the UTA Tennis Center.
Freshman Klara Jagosova and junior Daniela Novokova fell to ranked opponents. Jagosova lost to #15 Nicole Leimbach, 6-3, 6-3, at the number one position and Novokova dropped a 6-3, 6-4 decision to #27 Helena Besovic at the number two position.
Senior Anete Rozklane fell to Ana Cetnik, 6-3, 7-6, at the number three position and freshman Sara Pesic lost to Kewa Nichols, 6-1, 6-2, at the number four position. All other matches including doubles were not played because TCU had clinched the match.
The Mavericks will be back in action Saturday when they particpate in the SLC tournament at the UTA Tennis Center. Texas-Arlington recieved a bye into the semifinals and will take on the winner of the Lamar-Louisiana-Monroe match at 2 p.m.
