Texas Post Game Quotes

Recap | Box Score

HEAD COACH Jeff Curtis
Opening Statements...
"If you play a game against the University of Texas, you have to play mistake-free baseball. Anytime you're on the field with Texas you have to make all the plays you possibly can. You have to give them credit. They put the ball in play, did a good job and the pitcher was very good today. He's gotten better since last year when we faced him. We needed to put the ball in play a little bit more and put more guys in scoring position. We couldn't come up with the base hit when we needed to and that pretty much sums up the ball game."

On Kasparek's pitching... "He did a great job. He came in throwing strikes and his velocity has jumped up since the last time we faced him. He has an average breaking ball that he's using to throw strikes. He picked it up in the middle innings and shut us down when we had guys in scoring position."

JUNIOR 2B Daniel Rieder
On his home run...
"I really didn't want to strike out against Kasparek. After I struck out in my first at bat, I made sure I got the bat on the ball. I didn't even try to hit the home run, I just wanted to get the barrel on the ball and it ended up going out. It was awesome."
