Arlington, Texas - The University of Texas at Arlington women's tennis team concluded the Mean Green Invitational on Sunday, September 14, 2008 in Denton, Texas.

The highlight of the day came from sophomore Monika Hadvigerova who captured her first title in the green flight singles with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Madura Ranganathan of UNT.

In the black singles main bracket, senior Sara Pesic suffered a setback against Rachel Wilhelm of UNT by a final score of 4-6, 6-4, and 1-0.

In the gold singles main bracket, Itzel Manzanera dropped a 6-0, 6-2 setback over Shannon McKenzie of UNT.

In the white singles main bracket, Katarina Micochova recorded a win over Natalie Friend of ACU but fell in the final round to Irina Paraschiv of UNT by a score of 6-0, 6-2.

In white singles main bracket, Katarina Micochova UTA dropped a 6-0, 6-2 decision in the final round to UNT's Irina Paraschiv.

In the black singles consolation bracket, Nikola Matovicova advanced to the final round with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Sarah Acosta of SMU.

In doubles action, Matovicova and Pesic suffered an 8-3 setback over Ashley Akin and Narine Kazarova of UNT.

UTA will be back in action on Friday (Sept. 19) at the Rice Invitational in Houston, Texas while the men's tennis squad heads to Waco, Texas to compete at the Baylor Invitational on Friday.
