UTA track heads to the Sooner Invitational

ARLINGTON, Texas - UTA track and field heads Norman, Okla., for the Sooner Invitational on Saturday.

Last weekend more than ten athletes qualified for the Southland conference meet at the end of the season. Some of them, however, expect to qualify for the NCAA Regional meet.

Junior Cordero Gray will run in the 60 meter dash and the 200 meter dash. Last week he posted a 21.28 in the 200 meter dash at the Texas Tech Invitational. Junior Juan Lewis finished first last week in the 400 meter with a time of 48.11 and will run in the 200 meter and 400 meter dash again on Saturday.

Senior Jasmine Walls will run in the 60 meter and 200 meter dash after already qualifying in the 200 meter dash last weekend. Freshman DeAndrea Smith already qualified in the 200 meter and 400 meter dash and will compete in the same events this weekend.
