ARLINGTON, Texas - The dynamic duo of Shannon Reynolds and Jasmine Walls were at it again, finishing back to back in the women's 200 meter dash Prelims. Walls(13th) and Reynolds(14th) finished with times of 23.65 and 23.70, respectively. Both times were good enough to advance to the quarterfinal on Saturday at 7:50 p.m.
Senior Cordero Gray punched his ticket to the NCAA Championships in Eugene, OR, after finishing in the top 12 in the 100m.
Cordero Gray punched his ticket to Eugene for the second time in his career with his 100m time of 10.42 in the semi-finals.
Just hours later, Gray took the track again in the 200 meter Prelims and finished sixth with a time of 20.95. Gray will now run in the quarterfinals, which will be at 7:35 p.m. on Saturday.
Wade Hayes recorded a height of 4.08m in the pole vault which was the 44th best. Isiah Clements competed in the men's high jump, finishing 34th with a height of 2.01 meters.
Freshman Renan Palma's time of 14.38 in the 110m hurdles was the 24th fastest time which advanced him to Saturday's quarterfinals. Palma is set to compete tomorrow at 7:05 p.m.
The men's 4x100 Relay team will compete Saturday for the first time since the Southland Conference Championships where they won first place. The Mavericks relay team consists of Andrew Pettis, Cordero Gray, Aundrea Williams Jr. and Juan Lewis.
