DES MOINES, Ia. - Cordero Gray and the men's 4x100m relay team each finished third Saturday at Drake Relays, finalizing a strong showing for the Mavericks in the featured national event.

Gray placed third in a strong 100m field. He recorded a time of 10.37 in the final heat.

The senior sprinter also helped lead the relay team to a new season-best time of 39.80 and a third-place finish. The 4x100m relay team of Gray, Andrew Pettis, Clayton Vaughn and Juan Lewis, who subbed for Lionel Mungwari recorded its top time of the season, improving on its Southland Conference-leading mark.
