"She was really frustrated after our match earlier today and took it upon herself to do what her job is," UT Arlington coach Diane Seymour said. "We talked about doing individually what we do well and when everybody does what they do well everything will come together more easily. Emily really focused in on what she does well and did her job tonight."

Charae Grosser came off the bench to record six kills.

The Mavs managed just four total blocks - three for which Emily Shearin accounted.
North Dakota State hit .367 for the match.
UT Arlington plays again Friday when it plays No. 1 California in Berkeley, Calif.
"There is still a lot of work to be done and we just talked about it," Seymour said. "We will take tomorrow off and then come out Monday and look at a lot of teaching moments. It still comes back to the fact that our goal is to win a conference championship. Going and playing a great program like Cal is great for us because if we win the conference tournament we would probably have to play a team like Texas. We will also have to play three consecutive weekends on the road later this season in conference, so hopefully we make the most of this learning experience."
