Former Mavericks golfer Zack Reeves became the first UT Arlington golfer to compete at a PGA Tour event this weekend as he competed at the True South Classic in Madison, Miss.
Reeves shot a 69, three-under par, in the first round of the tournament before shooting a one-over par 73 in the second. He failed to make the cut line by one stroke in his first tour event.
Reeves was a NCAA Academic All-American in 2008 and a member of the All-Southland Conference Academic Team between 2005 and 2008. He has been competing at the professional level ever since his graduation in 2008 and was named the 2011 Player of the Year on the Adam's Golf Pro Tour.
