LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas - UT Arlington women's basketball could not hold on to an 11-point lead in Saturday evening's 69-60 loss to UALR at Jack Stephens Center.
The Mavericks dropped to 3-22 overall and 2-12 in Sun Belt action.
Senior guard Laila Suleiman scored in double figures after a two-game single-digit scoring stint. Suleiman led the team with 18 points.
"This was a really tough loss for us today because I thought we were in control in the first half," UT Arlington coach Krista Gerlich said. "I liked the pace we were playing at, we were moving the ball well and we were following our game plan."
Suleiman was hot early shooting 3-for-3 from beyond the arc, leading UTA to an early 11-5 lead at the first media timeout. The Mavericks had their largest lead of the game after a pair of free-throws from Chauntandra Williams, 27-16.
