ARLINGTON, Texas - UT Arlington men's tennis will head to Houston this weekend to compete in their second tournament of the fall at the Rice Invitational.
The Invitational will consist of a 64-players singles draw and a 32-doubles draw. The field includes five players currently ranked among the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) national pre-season rankings including four of the top 50. The Mavericks will compete against players from Arkansas, Auburn, Baylor, Louisiana-Lafayette and LSU.
"We will be playing against a really good level of competition and we hope to build off the momentum from last weekend," UTA coach Diego Benitez said.
Daniel Echeverry and Carlos Arbiza will participate in men's singles action beginning Friday, followed by doubles later that afternoon.

Arbiza and Echeverry earned the doubles title last weekend at the Marco and Co. Islanders Open winning 8-4, and hope to do the same this weekend. Sebastian Erimicioiu also had a great outing last weekend going 2-0 before the Racquet Club Invitational tournament was cancelled.
Benetiz is proud of the way the men played at the Marco and Co. Islanders Open and the Racquet Club Invitational, and believe they will continue playing at a high level at the upcoming Rice Invitational.
