Postgame Notes
- UTA improved to 4-3 on the season, heading into the team's 4 p.m. road game Saturday at Fordham (5-1). The Mavericks return to action Tuesday on the road at the University of Texas. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin.
- Fordham dropped to 5-2 on the season. The Rams return to action Wednesday at home against Sacred Heart, their seventh straight home game.
- Fordham's starting lineup consisted of forwards Chris Sengfelder and Jesse Bunting and guards Antwoine Anderson, Joseph Chartourny and Javontae Hawkins.
- Nathan Hawkins was UTA's first substitute off the bench at the 17:03 mark of the first half.
- Drew Charles was on fire from long-range during the first half. He set a season-high with 5 3-point field goals out of just 7 attempts. His career-high for 3-pointers is 6 against Texas State last March.
- UTA and Fordham combined to attempt 36 3-point attempts in the 1st half. That accounted for 75 percent of the 48 total field goal attempts in the half.
- Kevin Hervey's streak of 17-straight made free throws came to an end in the first half. He ended-up going 9-13 in the game. He scored 15 points to go with 7 rebounds in 27 minutes of action.
- The victory marked the first road win of the season for UTA and the first home loss for Fordham. The Rams have played six of their first seven games of the season at home in historic Rose Hill Gym. The Mavericks play 9 of their 13 non-conference games on the road
- UTA shot season-bests of .564 from the field and .455 from beyond the 3-point arc.
- UTA outrebounded Fordham by a whopping 36-16 margin (+20).
