Postgame Notes

  • UTA improved to 4-0, its best start to a season since 1977 when the team went 7-0.
  • The matchup was the first meeting between UTA and San Diego State. SDSU coach Stacie Terry played at UT Arlington from 1994-98 and is one of 17 to be a member of the 1,000-point club. Terry was a graduate assistant during the 1999-00 season.
  • After starting the season with the same lineup for the first three games, UTA changed it up as Breck Clark made her first start.
  • Cierra Johnson's three steals moved her to 170 for her career and seven away from tying Gale Haynes for ninth.
  • Rebekah VanDijk's two blocks moved her to 111 for her career and six shy of Rola Ogunoye for fourth. VanDijk had her two-game double-double streak come to an end.
  • Christina Devers' 14 points tied for a game high and is the fourth consecutive game she has led UTA (was tied with VanDijk).
  • UTA outscored SDSU 36-18 in the paint and 25-10 in points off turnovers.
