"I think (Bradley) has really stepped it up defensively. I watched them (on tape) two games ago and their weren't real solid. I think, obviously, in that Chicago State game they played great defense. They take away the drive, they play the gaps. They are making you shoot contested shots. They had a good game plan. They tried to take away Kevin Hervey. They did a good job denying him the basketball. They played hard. They crashed the offensive boards. We knew it was going to be hard. They probably made it harder than we even expected. The way they played against Chicago State, we knew were going to have a tough game on our hands.

"We missed some shots, but it was a credit to them. They were getting hands up and contesting. I was proud of our guys. They went on a couple of runs. The crowd got into it. We could have folded, but our guys kept defending. We are a very good defensive team. I think that was what, ultimately, got us over the top.

"(Playing at Bradley) was like a tough conference game. We are going to see this on the road. Games like this build character. We are going to have to fight through adversity. (Being) in uncomfortable surroundings make things difficult. Bradley is definitely going in the right direction and playing in the right way. I am sure they are going to get some wins."
