Postgame Notes

  • UTA fell for the first time this season, ending its best start since 1977 at 5-1.
  • Rebekah VanDijk earned her 29th-career double-double with a team-high 20 points and 11 rebounds. She finished with a career-high four steals.
  • VanDijk's 20 points gave her 861 in her career. Her 11 rebounds pushed her to 630 and just 12 short of reaching the UTA career top-10.
  • Tulsa, Okla. product Aysia Evans made her first collegiate start. It was the third lineup that UTA has used this season. Evans was 0-4 from the field.
  • Cierra Johnson did not record a steal for the first time this season, she entered eighth in NCAA Division I at more than three per game.
  • UTA was outscored 26-24 in the paint and 21-17 off the bench, it was the first time this season UTA has been on the short side of both categories in the game game.
  • The Lady Mavericks travel to face Kansas State on Wednesday. The Wildcats at 7-0 and have a contest on Sunday before their meeting. KSU is receiving votes in the AP Top-25 Poll and defeated No. 24 Auburn on Thursday.
