Postgame Notes
- UTA moved to 11-3 for the season and 4-0 in Sun Belt play, it's first 4-0 start since the 2007-08 season when the Lady Mavs were a perfect 16-0 in the Southland Conference. South Alabama fell to 7-8 overall and 2-2 in conference. The win lifted UTA's record against USA to 5-3 all-time.
- Rebekah VanDijk earned a major milestone as she had a team-high 16 points. The total gave her 1,001 points in her career, just the 18th player in UTA history to achieve the feat. She also moved into eighth with 712, passing Ashley Bobb (2004-07). With her double-double, she achieved the seventh of the season and 33rd of her career, tying for 5th in active double-doubles across the NCAA Division I.
- Cierra Johnson, already seventh in UTA history in steals, recording her 200th of her career after grabbing four on Thursday night.
- UTA shot a season-best 50.9 percent from the field. UTA was one 3-pointer shy of tying its season high as it knocked down 10-of-13, three shy of the single-game record.
- Crystal Allen had a season-high 13 points on 5-of-8 shooting and two treys.
- The Lady Mavs returned to form in forcing 20 turnovers. UTA had a nine-game streak snapped at Texas State last Saturday and entered 15th in the nation at more than 22 forced a game.
- UTA used the same starting lineup for the second consecutive game and improved to 6-1 with the lineup.
- Orange appears to be the UTA color as it improved to 6-0 wearing the orange jerseys.
