Postgame Quotes
UTA Head Coach Scott Cross
"We have to give Troy credit. (They were) another team that shot absolutely lights out against us. We have to figure out a way to be better defensively. That is two games in a row where we have been poor. We haven't been passing the ball or executing on offense like we are capable of. It comes down to the tough-guy things that we are not doing right now.
"In our guys' defense. It is hard (to play without Kevin Hervey and Julian Harris). We have been preparing all week to have Kevin there. And, we found out today that he was not going to be able to play. So, we had to throw a lot of guys into either different or expanded roles. Jalen (Jones) hadn't been playing at the four. We had to move him over. Jalen does know how to play the four, defensively and the rest of the guys know our defense. That is where we came up short. We let them shoot lights out. I think, maybe, we could have been better offensively if we would have had a couple of days to prepare.
"But, there is no excuse for what we did defensively. Again, it was one of those nights. (Wesley) Person was incredible. Everything he shot went in. I don't think I have ever been a part of a game where the other team scored on seven 'and-ones.' Hopefully, we can regroup quickly and get ready for Monday night at South Alabama."
