ARLINGTON, Texas - Agustina Serio remained perfect in singles as she helped UTA women's tennis get back to winning, taking a 7-0 decision against UT Rio Grand Valley on Sunday at the UTA Tennis Center.
Serio powered her way to a 4-0 record in singles play as the Mavericks went to 2-3 overall for the season, ending a three-match losing streak. Serio also won in doubles as UTA took both No. 2 and 3 doubles 6-0 to claim the opening point.
"We played very well today and it was good to get some confidence back," Benitez said. "Losing several matches in a row was very tough on us, especially ending the home winning streak, but it was good to get the win today and we will work hard to get ready for the next match."
Astrid Gehre also remained perfect as she went to 5-0 in doubles, playing along side Anna Wichert at No. 2 doubles. Serio joined with Valeria Lopez to cap the point at No. 3.
