Postgame Notes

  • No. 2 UTA's bid to reach the NCAA Tournament came to an end in the Sun Belt semifinals. UTA fell to 22-8 for the season and will await a potential bid into postseason play. Information regarding the WNIT is released on Monday night.
  • Rebekah VanDijk finished with 11 points and moved into eighth in UTA history in scoring with 1,227 in her career. VanDijk fouled out with under six minutes into the game.
  • No. 3 Troy, the defending tournament champion, advanced to its second consecutive championship game and will take on No. 5 Louisiana on Sunday at 6 p.m.
  • UTA, having advanced to its first semifinal since joining the conference in 2013-14, is 1-3 all-time in the SBC tournament.
  • Cierra Johnson moved into 17th in Sun Belt history for career steals, she began the day in 21st, surpassing four former SBC players on the night. Johnson has 235 in her career, third in program history.
  • Troy averaged 82.9 points per game coming into Saturday, first in the conference and eighth in the nation.
