POSTGAME NOTES

• UTA improved to 18-12 on the season and 9-8 against Sun Belt competition. UTA is 13-2 at home, 4-10 on the road and 1-0 in neutral site games. The Mavericks travel to Texas State Friday night for a 6 p.m. tipoff at the in-state rival Bobcats. The game will be televised by ESPN2.

• Georgia State fell to 20-9 overall and 11-5 in the Sun Belt. The Panthers host Troy (Thursday) and South Alabama (Saturday) next weekend in their final games of the regular season.

• For the second time this season, UTA's starting lineup consisted of forwards Nathan Hawkins and Julian Harris, center Johnny Hamilton and guards Kaelon Wilson and Erick Neal. Kevin Hervey was the first substitute off the bench.

• Senior forward Julian Harris earned his second career start against Georgia State. He has 90 career appearances at UTA.

• Senior guard Erick Neal scored 24 points to go with 10 rebounds and 7 assists against Georgia State. He now has 11 career double-doubles, 5 this year.

• Graduate transfer Johnny Hamilton blocked 3 shots against Georgia State to surpass the program record for most in a single season with 72. The previous high was 71 by Jordan Reves during the 2012-13 season.

• Senior guard Erick Neal registered 7 assists against Georgia State. He now has 201 on the season, the fourth-highest single season total in program history. Neal has four of the top five single season totals. He is also the all-time career leader with 735.

• The UTA basketball program recognized eight seniors: Mairega Clarke, Johnny Hamilton, Julian Harris, Nathan Hawkins, Kevin Hervey, Link Kabadyundi, Erick Neal and Kaelon Wilson.

• During Senior Day ceremonies, graduate transfer Johnny Hamilton proposed to his girlfriend, Rachael Ross. She accepted. He went on to score 14 points to go with 6 rebounds and 2 blocks

• Senior forward Kevin Hervey scored 28 points with 12 rebounds for his 35th career double-double and the 10th of the season. He also has 38 career games of 20+ points, including 19 this season.
