@UTAMavsSoftball Travel To Spring For College Classic

SPRING, Texas – The UT Arlington softball team travels to Spring, Texas this weekend for a double header at Collins Park where they will face off against Lamar University and Lamar State in the College Classic.

The Mavericks will take on Lamar at 10:00 am before facing Lamar State at noon.  Both games are scheduled seven-inning games.

UTA Remains Undefeated in Fall Ball
The Mavericks move to 3-0 during fall play, after going 2-0 last weekend at Allan Saxe Field.  UTA has defeated Tarleton State, McLennan and UT Dallas to date – all happening in the friendly confines of Allan Saxe Field.  This will be the first road contests for the Mavericks this fall.

2019-20 Mavericks
UTA is returning 13 players from a squad that won 36 games a season ago, including the program's first postseason championship in a 4-3 win over Iowa State in the NISC Championship. Six of those players started at least 37 games for the Mavs a season ago – Whitney Walton, Aileen Garcia, Reagan Wright, Brittany Wyllie, Melanie Mendoza and KJ Murphy.

The Mavericks also bring back their four main pitchers from a season ago – Randi Phillips (18-14, 3.45 ERA, 81 SO), Allie Gardiner (6-7, 2.88 ERA, 36 SO), JoJo Valencia (5-5, 3.74 ERA, 36 SO) and Laura Henriksen (7-1, 3.99 ERA, 12 SO).

The 2019 fall squad features 13 new faces, including nine from the state of Texas.  Miranda Morin (Sacramento, Calif.), Anjelica Gonzalez (Lawton, Okla.), Jadyn Erickson (Pleasant Hill, Iowa) and Alyssa Okada (Pearl City, Hawaii) all come to UTA from out of state.
