ARLINGTON, TX – The UT Arlington Mavericks softball team continues conference play this weekend, hosting California Baptist for a three-game series at Allan Saxe Field.
The Mavericks and Lancers open the weekend with a doubleheader on Friday at 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. CT, followed by a single game on Saturday at noon. Saturday's contest will serve as Alumni Day, welcoming former Mavericks back to campus.
UTA's inaugural flag football head coach, Melinda Nguyen will participate in the honorary first pitch ahead of Friday's doubleheader.
UTA legend Jody Conradt will throw out the first pitch on Saturday as part of Alumni Day. Conradt previously served as head coach for women's basketball (1973-1976), volleyball (1973-1975) and softball (1973-1976) at UTA.
UTA enters the weekend following a 5-4 midweek win over Baylor on Wednesday at home.

- Just two weeks after falling 8-0 to the Bears in Waco, the Mavericks flipped the script, responding to an early three-run deficit, using a key fifth-inning surge to take control and hold off the Bears and take a midweek contest, 5-4
- The Mavericks rank first in the WAC in FIVE categories -- double plays (21), double plays per game (.58), home runs (43), home runs per game (1.19) and scoring (6.53).
- Peyton Holland ranks first in the WAC in assists (85) and assists per game (2.36). Holland also sits at fifth in home runs with eight and third in runs per game (.94).
- After this past weekend at UVU, Mia McNulty ties for first in the WAC in home runs with 11. She also ranks first in home runs per game (.35). She is also in third in slugging percentage (.712).
- Dee McClarity also ranks first in the conference in walks per game (.71).
- Freshman Valeria Feeney ranks third in triples per game (.09) and toughest to strike out (22.2).
- Last game versus Baylor, UTA was led at the plate by Valeria Feeney led the way, as she went 2-for-4. Kaitlyn Sailor had a huge impact in the win with a team-high of 2 RBIs (1-for-2). Kelsey Creech and Kaylee Schweitzer each added an RBI as well.
