Success Continues at Ron Wesbrooks Invitational for @UTAMavsMTEN

BEAUMONT, Texas – The UT Arlington men's tennis team had another successful day at the Ron Wesbrooks Invitational on Saturday with three players advancing to the championship match in their respective flights and two doubles teams making it to the championship match as well.
After winning his first match in Pool A of Flight One yesterday, Alejandro Hayen lost a step in day two, losing both of his matches on the day. With the win from day one, however, Hayen will be playing for fifth place in Flight One on Sunday.
Also competing in Flight One was Alan Sau. Sau went 2-0 on the day, defeating Lamar's Mayr 6-4, 4-6, 10-6 and Tyler Junior College's Kvantaliani 6-0, 6-3. He will play in the championship match tomorrow at 10 am against Pool A's winner, Axel Vila Antuna.
In Flight two, Miguel Cabrera continued his winning ways, also going 2-0 to advance to the championship match. Cabrera defeated Lamar's Sundaram 4-6, 6-4, 10-5 and Nicholls' Salekar 6-4, 7-6(3). He will take on Lamar's Paton Canal in the Flight Two championship tomorrow at 10 a.m.
Solano Caffarena will also be competing in a championship match after winning his two matches in Flight Three. He defeated Tyler Junior College's Matarredona and Lamar's Salsini 6-2, 6-4. He will take on Lamar's Joshua Taylor in the Flight Three championship match tomorrow at 10 a.m.
In the Flight Four Round Robin tournament, Ricardo Alban bounced back from his opening day loss by winning his two matches during day two in straight sets. He won his first match over Antoine Martin-Thiriat from Nicholls 7-5, 6-1 and Lamar's Blessing Benibo 6-4, 6-3. Alban will take on Kaito Nishihara for third place tomorrow morning.
In the final flight, Daichi Akiyoshi took the runner-up spot. After falling 6-4, 7-6 (7) on day one, he won his final two matches to take second place in the Flight Five Round Robin tournament. He defeated Collin Scheufler from Nicholls 6-2, 4-6, 10-5 and Brock Lauer from Lamar 7-6 (7), 6-2.
