HOUSTON, Texas – The UT Arlington men's tennis team will travel to Rice this weekend to participate in the Rice Invitational beginning Friday (Oct. 18) morning. The three-day, individual-format tournament will run through Sunday with all matches taking place at the George R. Brown Tennis Center.
The Mavericks, along with host Rice, will be among nine teams competing in the invitational. Louisiana, Incarnate Word, Laredo College, Texas A&M, Texas A&M – Corpus Christi, Texas Tech and UTSA will join UTA in Houston.
Competition will begin Friday at 9:00 a.m. with doubles play. The Mavericks will look to continue the success that they found a week ago at the Ron Wesbrooks Invitational where two individuals and doubles teams came home with their respective flight championship.
UTA will have two more meets following the Rice Invitational. The ITA Texas Regional will take place next week (Oct. 25-28) before they round out the fall season at the Ralson/Nuefeld Coaches Challenge hosted by SMU beginning Nov. 1.
