COLLEGE STATION, Texas – UTA concluded its 2019 regular season at the highly competitive Arturo Barrios Invitational on Saturday. The men's team placed 12th among 26 teams with 303 points, while the women came in 22nd with a score of 573.

Individually,
Justin Domangue finished seventh among the 226 runners in the men's 8k race with a time of 23:52.3. It was the senior's fourth top-20 finish in as many events this season.

Cole Klashinsky also had a strong showing with a 16th-place time of 24:08.1. With Domangue and Klashinsky, UTA was one of just three schools to place multiple runners inside the top 16 in the men's race.

UTA's final three point scorers were all freshmen.
Marquentin Barnes led the trio, placing 84th overall in 25:20.9, while
Carter Reed and
Jack Myers placed 102nd and 103rd, respectively with times of 25:33.5.

On the women's side, freshman
Ieshia Dickerson paced the squad for the first time. She finished in 89th place overall among 238 runners with a clocking of 22:18.9.

Two freshmen teammates,
Bailey Villalon and
Mathilde Ruud, were the next two finishers for the Mavs. Villalon was 121st (22:34.8), while Ruud grabbed 128th (22:40.8).
Madeleine Rowe (146th, 23:07.4) and
Sofia Santamaria (147th, 23:07.5) rounded out the scorers.

The meet included 18 regionally-ranked teams on the men's side with 10 representing the NCAA South Central Region, including No. 9 UTA. The women's race featured 17 regionally-ranked squads with No. 13 UTA as one of the 12 from the South Central.

The Mavericks next will compete in the Sun Belt Conference Championships on Saturday, Nov. 2, in Atlanta, Ga.
