Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 ARLINGTON – After having its five-match winning streak snapped last week, the UTA women's tennis team (7-1) began a new streak with a pair of home wins Thursday.
 
In the first match, UTA beat Dallas Baptist 4-0. The match was highlighted by Nanaka Takeuchi's 6-0, 6-0 win against Ira Vogelmann.
 
Takeuchi was one of three Mavericks to go 2-0 in singles competition on the day. Lucia Natal, and Liz Chileno also each earned that distinction.
 
UTA won the doubles point with victories from Momoka Horiguchi and Carla Pons and Carla Vives and Chileno.
 
The Mavericks shut out Cameron in the second match of the day, as well. In both matches, Horiguchi and Vives had their singles play stopped after the team win was already secured. Both players won the first set in each match.
 
Once again, the doubles point was secured with wins by Horiguchi and Pons and Vives and Chileno.
 
UTA will wrap up it's nine-match home stand Sunday when the Mavericks play host to the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley at 10 a.m.
