Casey’s Corner: All UTA Home Baseball, Softball Games To Be Dog Friendly

ARLINGTON – UT Arlington Department of Athletics officials are pleased to announce that all 2019 home baseball games at Clay Gould Ballpark and softball games at Allan Saxe Field will be dog-friendly, thanks to a generous partnership with upstart Lone Star Friends of Animals to create 'Casey's Corner.'

Beginning with Wednesday night's baseball home opener against Arkansas-Pine Bluff at 6:30, dogs which are leashed, at least six months old and with the proper vaccinations will be permitted at all UTA baseball and softball games throughout the season.

Casey's Corner is a grassy area between the baseball and softball fields, along the 3rd-base line of the baseball stadium. Multiple pet waste stations have been set up, and the space provides fans and dog owners an opportunity to walk and sit with their canine companions while taking in all the Maverick action.

One dog per adult is allowed, and the owner(s) must sign a waiver – which is good for the entire season at both parks – which includes the aforementioned and following rules:

1) UTA officials reserve the right to refuse entry to any dog, and reserves the right to eject any and all unruly, rowdy or disruptive dog(s) or owner(s).

2) The dog must be up to date on Rabies, DHLP, Parvo and Bordetella vaccinations to attend games. An ID tag is required.

3) All dogs must be leashed and attended at all times, and the owner(s) is responsible for picking up after his/her dog(s).

The waiver is attached to this release, but will also be available at the marketing tables of each venue for owners to complete and sign.

The complete list of all home baseball and softball games is available at UTAMavs.com.
