PALM DESERT, Calif. – Just four days after its last competitive round concluded, the UT Arlington men's golf team is back in action this weekend at Wyoming's Desert Intercollegiate at the Classic Club Course Friday through Sunday.
Â
The 54-hole tournament will feature a double-tee start off holes 1 and 10 each day beginning at 7 a.m. local and 9 a.m. Central. Live scoring will be available all tournament long via Golfstat by clicking here. Additionally, updates will be posted on the official Twitter account of the program @UTAMavsGolf.
Â
The Mavs' five-man lineup will feature the following quintet on the par-72, 7305-yard layout:
Â
Paul Gonzalez
Tanner Gore
Kyle Cox
Camilo Avila
Caleb Hicks
Â
That's the same grouping which just teed it up in the All-American Intercollegiate in Houston this past weekend. The final round scheduled for Tuesday was rained out as the Mavericks finished the two-round event in a tie for 13th place – including their 3rd-best 18 of the year in the opening round.
Â
UTA is one of 21 teams in the field this weekend; last year, UTA finished tied for 10th as California ran away with the team title with an incredible 47-under 817 total (275-274-268). The tournament dates back to 2008.
Â
INSIDE THE UTA LINEUP
Sophomore Gonzalez leads the UTA lineup with a stroke average of 73.87. He has posted a team-high-tying four par-or-better rounds in just 15 opportunities this year, and has a team-low round of 68.
