LAST TIME OUT | UTA AT COASTAL CAROLINA (FEB 7)
The Lady Mavericks struggled shooting the basketball, but picked up a hard-fought, 67-64, Sun Belt Conference win at Coastal Carolina on Thursday night (Feb. 7) at the HTC Center.

The Lady Mavs shot a season-worst 31.3 percent (20-of-64) from the floor, 40 percent (6-of-15) from long distance and knocked down 21-of-28 shots (75 percent) from the charity stripe, while the Chanticleers made 24 of their 56 shots from the field (42.9 percent) and 4-of-12 (33.3 percent) shots from behind the arc.

The Lady Mavericks struggled offensively, but made up for it on the defensive end of the floor. UTA forced Coastal into 20 turnovers and scored 20 points off of those miscues.

Cierra Johnson led the way with 16 points, four boards and a pair of steals. Lauren Billie added 11 points and four rebounds. Claire Chastain chipped in with nine points, six rebounds and two dimes, while Katie Ferrell filled the stat sheet on the night and finished with four points, nine rebounds, six assists and two blocks.

DUBS
The Lady Mavericks have 17 wins on the season and are tied with South Alabama for the most wins by a Sun Belt team this season.

COLLEGEINSIDER.COM MID_MAJOR POLL
The Lady Mavs received eight votes in this week's CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25 Poll, marking the second time this season that UTA has appeared in any national poll.

FILL IT UP
The Lady Mavs' 100 points in their 100-73 win at Arkansas State on Jan. 17, are the most points scored by a Sun Belt team in conference play so far this season.

KNOW YOUR OPPONENT | APP STATE
• Appalachian dominated on both sides of the ball in its 77-56 win over Texas State. The Mountaineers had five players in double figures while limiting the Bobcats to 35 percent shooting on defense. App held the Sun Belt's leading scorer, Toshua Leavitt (16.7 ppg), to 4-of-21 shooting for just 10 points. Leavitt didn't score after the first quarter and missed her final 13 shot attempts. Appalachian improved to 11-0 this season when limiting its opponents to 70 points or less.

• Since allowing a season-high 99 points in the double overtime loss to UTA, App has held its opponents over the next seven games (5-2) to just 61.4 points per game.

• Appalachian's reserves have played better as of late, averaging 17.7 points over the past three games. The bench unit is shooting 48.7 percent from the field and 44.4 percent from 3-point land during the stretch.
