Box Score ATLANTA, Ga. - The UT Arlington women's tennis team (12-5, 3-2 SBC) ended their trip to the Peach State with a 4-1 win over Georgia State, one day after defeating Georgia Southern, to complete the sweep of the Sun Belt Georgia schools.
The Mavericks started the match by winning the doubles point. Nanaka Taekuchi and
Liz Chileno defeated the tandem of Damira Muminovic and Lara Vovk 7-5 to take one of the two required matches.Â
Carla Pons and
Lucia Natal lost in the No. 1 competition 6-2, but a walkover win for Alumdena Boza and
Carla Vives wrapped up doubles play to put the Mavs up 1-0 heading into singles competition.
In singles play, the Panthers picked up one point with a 6-1, 6-2 win over
Carla Pons in the No. 1 singles competition. That would be the lone point for Georgia State as UTA would wrap up the match with three victories in singles play.Â
