Pardo Earns Second Sun Belt Athlete of the Week Award

ARLINGTON, Texas – Enrique Pardo of the UT Arlington men's tennis team earned his second Sun Belt Athlete of the Week award this week, announced by the league office on Wednesday afternoon.

Pardo helped the Mavs win two matches this week to push their record to 13-8 on the year. In the first match of the week against SMU, he helped the Mavericks rally from a doubles point loss, defeating his opponent (#69 Carles Sarrio) in straight sets as UTA won 4-3. He was also responsible for helping the Mavs clinch a shutout over Troy, picking up the deciding point in doubles play with partner Eduard Simo, winning 6-4.

UTA will celebrate Pardo and other seniors this Saturday at 11 a.m. at the UTA Tennis Center for Senior Day as they host Louisiana for the final match of the regular season.
