ARLINGTON, Texas — The UT Arlington women's tennis team will wrap up play in the Dallas-Fort Worth area this week, taking on two opponents at the UTA Tennis Center and one in Dallas.
The Mavs will begin the week with a match against North Texas (2 p.m.) on Wednesday at the UTA Tennis Center before heading to Dallas to take on SMU (2 p.m.) on Friday. UTA will end the week with a Sun Belt match against Arkansas State (10 a.m.) on Sunday, April 7 at the UTA Tennis Center.
UTA has rattled off three straight wins to push their record to 12-5 overall. Last weekend they swept the Sun Belt Georgia schools in Georgia Southern and Georgia State, defeating the Eagles 4-2 and the Panthers 4-1 to move to 3-2 in conference play.
UTA NOTES

Almudena Boza has won four straight matches, pushing her record on the season to 9-3 overall.
• Boza, along with
Liz Chileno are just one win away from becoming the fourth and fifth members of the team to win double-digit matches.
Lucia Natal (11 wins),
Carla Pons (11 wins) and
Nanaka Takeuchi (10 wins) lead the Mavs with wins this season.
• The Mavs have played well in the No. 2 doubles competition, regardless of the teams. On the year, they have won 73 percent of their matches, compared to just 36 percent in No. 1 and 53 percent in No. 3.
SCOUTING NORTH TEXAS
The Mean Green are 9-9 overall on the season and 4-2 in Conference USA. Maria Kononova and Tamuna Kutubidze lead UNT with 12 wins and 11 wins respectively in singles play. In doubles play, Kononova and Kutubidze are a combined 9-2 in the No. 1 doubles competition.
SCOUTING SMU
SMU is currently 7-11 overall and have lost two straight heading into the match with the Mavericks. Most recently, they suffered a 5-2 loss at the SMU Tennis Complex against Tulsa on March 31. The Mustangs are most successful in the No. 2 and No. 3 singles slots, winning 65 percent of their matches in those two competitions.
SCOUTING ARKANSAS STATE
The Red Wolves sit at 3-10 on the season and are currently winless in the Sun Belt, losing all six matches they've played. They have lost seven straight matches, with their last win coming Feb. 16 against UMKC. Pornpawee Pramethong has won back-to-back in the No. 1 singles competition, and currently has a 5-7 record this spring.
ON DECK
The Mavs will end the season on the road, traveling to Texas State (April 9) before heading to the Carolinas to take on Appalachian State (April 12) and Coastal Carolina (April 14).
