Box Score ARLINGTON, Texas - The UT Arlington women's tennis team (12-6) fell to North Texas on Wednesday afternoon, 4-2 at the UTA Tennis Center. Almudena Boza and Liz Chileno picked up the two points for the Mavericks in the match.

The Mean Green got things rolling in doubles compeition, quickly picking up their doubles point.  Carla Pons and Carla Vives fell 6-3 to Maria Kononova and Tamuna Kutubidze in the No. 1 competition, while Nanaka Takeuchi and Liz Chileno lost 6-3 to Alexandra Heczey and Ivana Babic in the No. 2 competition. The No. 3 doubles match went unfinished.

In singles play, Maria Kononova gave North Texas their second point with a quick 6-2, 6-3 win over Carla Pons in the No. 1 spot. Boza prevented the sweep with a 7-5, 6-4 win over Heczey in the No. 5 spot.  Chileno tied the match at two points each, defeating Nidhi Surapaneni 6-4, 7-6.

However, the Mean Green would wrap up the match with wins in the No. 2 and No. 6 spots.  Lucia Natal forced a third set, winning 3-6 after dropping set one 6-1, but was unable to complete the comeback, losing set three 6-3.  The Match ended when Vives fell in the No. 6 competition 3-6, 6-3, 6-0 to Ivana Babic.
