Box Score DALLAS, Texas – The UT Arlington women's tennis team fell to the Southern Methodist Mustangs on Friday evening 6-1 at the SMU Tennis Complex.  The lone point for the Mavericks came from a match being retired.
 
The Mustangs took the doubles point using the No. 1 and No. 3 competition. Carla Pons and Carla Vives fell in the No. 1 slot 6-2, while Almudena Boza and Lucia Natal dropped the No. 3 spot by a score of 6-3.  Nanaka Takeuchi and Liz Chileno were down 5-2 when their match was called.
 
In singles play, Takeuchi picked up the win in the No. 3 competition after her opponent had to end the match early.  From there, the Mustangs made quick work of the Mavericks, winning four of their final five points in straight sets, coming from the No. 1, No. 2, No. 4 and No. 6 spots in the lineup.

The Mavericks will host Arkansas State on Sunday, April 7 at the UTA Tennis Center at 10 a.m. for what will be Senior Day.  Admission is free.
