ARLINGTON, Texas — The final three matches of the season will determine whether the UT Arlington women's tennis team (13-7, 4-2 SBC) will play in the Sun Belt Tournament. A win against Texas State will guarantee at least an eight-seed for UTA.
The Mavs will begin the week with a match against Texas State on Tuesday, April 9 in San Marcos. Following the match, they will travel to the Carolina's to face off against Appalachian State (Friday, April 12) and Coastal Carolina (Sunday, April 14).
UTA is coming off a 4-0, shutout win over Sun Belt foe Arkansas State on Sunday. Senior
Carla Vives finished her home career with a 6-2, 6-2 win to help the Mavericks clinch the win. The Mavs have won three-straight Sun Belt matches.
UTA NOTES

SCOUTING TEXAS STATE
Texas State is 6-12 overall and 2-5 in Sun Belt play. They are coming off a 4-0 sweep of Arkansas State, ending a three-match losing streak. The Bobcats No. 1 player, Ana Perez, leads the team with 10 wins on the season, all coming from the No. 1 singles competition. Texas State has done fairly well in doubles play, winning 60 percent of their matches.
SCOUTING APPALACHIAN STATE
App State enters the week 13-5 overall and 7-1 in Sun Belt play, tied for first place with South Alabama. They have won two straight and eight of their last ten matches. Their No. 3 doubles teams have won nearly 80 percent of their matches on the season, while the team of Sandra Anglesjo and Teodora Sevo have gone 8-3 in the No. 2 competition.
SCOUTING COASTAL CAROLINA
Coastal Carolina is currently 13-7 overall and 6-2 in conference play, sitting two matches ahead of UTA for third place. The Chants No. 3 singles has produced a win at a staggering 89 percent of their matches this season (16-2). Somer Dalla-Bona leads the pack with a 12-2 record, while Jennifer Brown is just behind her with 10 wins on the season.
ON DECK
The Mavs will wait to see their seed at the Sun Belt Conference Championships in Peachtree City, Georgia. The tournament will take place from April 18-20 at the Peachtree City Tennis Center.
