ARLINGTON, Texas – UTA freshman-to-be Dominick Yancy claimed a national championship Saturday at the USATF Hershey National Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships in Sacramento, Calif.
Yancy won the national title in the 200 meters in the men's 17-18 age group. He posted a time of 21.28 in the finals to win by .14. Yancy advanced to the finals after cruising through the prelims (1st, 21.36) and semifinals (2nd, 21.66). He also finished fourth in the 4x400m relay.
As a prep, Yancy starred at Euless Trinity H.S., where he was the UIL 6A, District 3 champion in both the 100m and 200m in 2019. He is part of a strong recruiting class that will enter UTA for the 2019-20 season.
