ARLINGTON – Registration is now underway for the annual Maverick Open to support UT Arlington Athletics, which will be held for the first time at the recently-opened Texas Rangers Golf Club on Thursday, Oct. 24, with a 1:30 p.m. shotgun start.
 
The four-person scramble will consist of three individuals paired with a UTA men's or women's golfer, Maverick coach or UTA Athletic Department staff member. Lunch is included with the entry fee, along with a plethora of other great UTA-branded participant gifts ranging from Under Armour shoe bags and hats to bag tags and towels. All proceeds go to support scholarships and program enhancements for UTA's 15 teams.
 
Additionally, prizes will be given to the top-6 teams and on-course contest winners. In a continuing effort to increase the value of the Mav Open for participants and sponsors alike, activations will be executed on many holes in the form of giveaways, games, prizes, contests and more.

"Our premier annual fundraiser is an excellent opportunity for our supporters to meet our men's and women's golf teams and their head coaches Catherine Matranga and Casey Devoll, visit with other UTA coaches and student-athletes and interact with our entire staff. The world's only Major League Baseball-branded golf course, Texas Rangers Golf Club (TRGC) is the result of a $24 million overall investment which completely transformed and re-routed the former Chester W. Ditto Golf Course at Brown Boulevard and Collins Street, just a few miles from UTA's campus.
 
Making TRGC an even more fitting location for the Mav Open to be relocated to is that the course was designed by UTA alumni John Colligan and Trey Kemp of Arlington-based Colligan Golf Design.
 
TRGC is the new home of the UTA men's and women's golf programs, giving the Mavs an expansive 23-acre practice area which includes a wide driving range, multiple short-game areas and even a Texas Rangers-logoed on-deck circle.
 
The Mav Open will be the day following Nancy's Night, which will take place on Oct. 23 at 6 p.m. in Troy's at Texas Live! Tickets to the elegant fundraiser are now available, and more information can be found by clicking here.
