UTA BEATS CANCER
The UT Arlington women's and men's basketball teams will continue the UTA Beats Cancer campaign at a pair of upcoming home games to raise funds and awareness for the cause. The women's game at College Park Center will take place on Saturday, Feb. 8, at 2 p.m. against Coastal Carolina, while the men's contest will occur the following Saturday, Feb. 15, also at 2 p.m. versus Little Rock.
New this year is that each team will have the opportunity choose what type of cancer awareness for which to raise funds. The Lady Mavs will be supporting Breast Cancer Awareness, while the men will be backing Lymphoma Cancer Awareness.
UTA Athletics will be fundraising at both games, with proceeds benefiting local cancer patient and outreach platforms in Arlington through the Moncrief Cancer Institute. The fundraising goal for the 2019-20 academic year is $10,000, and fans can join the cause by easily donating online by clicking on this link. The UTA Beats Cancer initiative is a year-round effort which began in the fall with volleyball raising more than $2,000.
