@UTAMavsWTEN Travel To Sunshine State

FORT MYERS, Fla. – The UT Arlington women's tennis team (7-2) will head to the East Coast for two matches in Florida.  They will be gin with a Thursday morning tilt against Florida Gulf Coast before heading to Boca Rotan to take on Florida Atlantic on Saturday (March 7).

UTA NOTES
  • The Mavericks are on a three-match winning streak after defeating Houston and UConn last weekend and have won five of their past six matches.
  • The Mavericks are are ending their six-match road stretch and will return to the UTA Tennis Center next weekend.  UTA is 3-1 during the stretch.
  • This will be the first match against FGCU or FAU in program history for the Mavericks.
  • Almudena Boza is on a four-match win streak in singles action.  Boz is 4-1 in dual play and 5-2 overall.  Polina Akimova is 5-2 in dual play this year, mainly playing on Court One.
SCOUTING FGCU
The Eagles are 4-5 this year and are coming off a 1-6 loss to #2 Florida State.  They have taken on fellow Sun Belt schools Georgia Southern and South Alabama, defeating both of them. Alba Retortillo and Sofia Perez are both 5-3 for FGCU this season, the best records on the team.

SCOUTING FAU
The Owls are 4-2 on the year and are coming off a 2-4 loss to North Florida. FAU is winning 72 percent of their singles dual matches this year, led by Natalie Kallmunzerova's perfect 5-0 record. In doubles play, the Owls are 10-5 in the spring, including a 4-2 record in the No. 1 position.
 
ON DECK
The Mavs will return to Arlington to begin Sun Belt play next weekend to take on Troy (March 14) and South Alabama (March 15) at the UTA Tennis Center.
