INSIDE THE SCORES
Hlynsdottir
- Hlynsdottir – like her teammates – began her day on the back nine and shot even through the first 11 holes with a birdie on the par-4, 362-yard 14th. The junior rolled three birdies coming on 3, 4 and 8 to cap the under-par round.
Garber
- Garber started her morning with two bogeys and a birdie over the first nine before entering the front side. With birdies on 2 and 5, she shot even through the remainder of the round. Â
Murray
- Murray began her day with a birdie on the opening 10th and played in even before making the turn with her second birdie coming on 17. The graduate student opened the front side with consecutive bogeys on 1 and 2 that put her 2-over heading into the 4th hole. Â However, she would be able to birdie the 4th and 6th as she played the last four holes in +1.
Tan
- Tan opened with bogeys on 10 and 12 but followed it up with seven-straight pars heading into hole 2. An unfortunate triple bogey on 2 derailed her momentum as several big numbers after that were too much to overcome.
Howard
- Howard uncharacteristically collected eight bogeys and two doubles throughout her round that was too much to bounce back from. However, the senior was able to card seven pars.
Ray
- Playing as an individual, Ray opened with a birdie on hole 1, but four bogeys set her back +3 before making the turn. Unfortunately, the junior made a triple on 12 slowed her down for the rest of the round however, she would be able to birdie hole 11.
THIS AND THAT
Â
- As a team, UTA sits in 5th place with 11 birdies, tied for 5th with a 3.25 par-3 average and tied for 4th with a 5.05 par-5 average.Â
- Hlynsdottir is tied for first with a 4.50 (-2) par-5 average.Â
- Garber is tied for 6th with a 3.90 (-1) par-4 average.Â
