ARLINGTON, Texas – UT Arlington baseball and head coach Darin Thomas have announced the 2022 recruiting class, consisting of three student-athletes who have signed their National Letters of Intent.
 
Ryan Black Jr. | INF | 6-2 | Mansfield Lake Ridge | Mansfield, Texas
Black is the 36^th ranked shortstop in Texas and earned a Top 500 Ranking nationally by Perfect Game. He was selected to play with the Toronto Blue Jays, Texas Rangers and Boston Red Sox scout teams in 2021.  Black was a 2021 Area Code Invitee and selected to the 25^th Annual Texas Scouts Association Invitational Workout.  In his junior season at Mansfield Lake Ridge, Black hit .436 with an on-base percentage of .560 while scoring 19 runs and stealing eight bases. He earned a 2^nd Team All-District selection for 11-6a.

"Ryan is one of the more exciting players in the metroplex. He is a very athletic infielder that bats from the left side. Ryan has big upside, and we look forward to working with him in the future."
 
Ryne Rodriguez | LHP | 6-2 | Trinity Valley | Fort Worth, Texas
Rodriguez is a three-time All-Conference selection at Trinity Valley.  During his junior season, he tossed 46.1 innings and allowed just five earned runs for a 0.76 ERA.  He ended the season with a 5-2 record while striking out 75 batters to just 16 walks. His father, David, also pitched at UT Arlington from 1985-86.

"Ryne is a very projectable left-handed pitcher that is already throwing in upper 80's. We love his competitiveness and think that he has the ability to come in and immediately contribute."
 
Cade McGlade | LHP/1B/OF | 6-3 | Allen High School | Odessa College | McKinney, Texas
McGlade appeared in 15 games on the mound for the Wranglers a season ago, tossing 28.0 innings in relief. He struck out 33 batters, 10.61 strikeouts per nine innings. Helped lead Allen High School to a 12-1 record in spring of 2020.

"Cade is a very athletic two-way guy that is getting better every time out. He has touched some 90's on the mound and swings a very good bat. Cade is a great student that has a quality make up and his best days are ahead of him."
