ARLINGTON, Texas - The UT Arlington women's tennis team will play three matches between Friday, March 19 and Monday, March 22 at the UTA Tennis Center. The Mavericks are currently 9-1 overall and a perfect 3-0 in Sun Belt Conference play.
The Mavericks will host UTSA at noon on Friday before turning around and taking on Arkansas State at 10 am on Saturday. They will have a one day break before taking on SMU on Monday at 2 pm. The Mustangs are the lone team to beat the Mavericks at this point in the season. UTA is coming off wins over Louisiana and ULM.Â
Carla Pons sports a 14-3 record on the season, leading the Mavericks in total wins.Â
Lucia Natal is second on the team in wins, but is a perfect 9-0 dating back to fall play, including 6-0 in dual matched.
Freshman
Polina Akimova is 9-2 on the season, but a perfect 7-0 in dual play, including a spotless 6-0 mark on court three.
On the season, the Mavericks have won 87.2 percent of their dual matches played and are 8-1 in Sun Belt singles dual matches.
In doubles play, Pons once again leads the Mavericks and is 7-0 on the season, including a perfect 6-0 with partner
Almudena Boza on court three. The Mavericks have won 69.2 percent of their doubles matches.
