ABOUT TEXAS RANGERS GOLF CLUB
Opened in February of 2019, the state-of-the-art Texas Rangers Golf Club is the new home of UTA's men's and women's golf programs. The world's only Major League Baseball-branded golf course, TRGC is the result of a $24 million renovation and updated routing of the former Chester W. Ditto Golf Course.
Â
The Home of UTA Golf was designed by UTA alumni John Colligan and Trey Kemp of Arlington-based Colligan Golf Design. It features an expansive 23-acre practice area, and a new 33,871-square-foot clubhouse – which just opened in March of 2021 – features a full-service restaurant and bar, covered patio overlooking the golf course, pro shop, locker rooms and numerous rental and event spaces. - Of individuals who have competed in four or more tournaments this season, Gonzalez carries the best scoring average for the Mavs at 74.50. He also boasts a team-leading six par-or-better rounds this year. A senior, Gonzalez enters what is likely his final regular-season tournament with a career scoring average of 73.24 – just behind the all-time record of 73.10 by Zack Fischer from 2008-11.
 - After this weekend, Hicks and Cronje will be the lone Mavs who have competed in all six team tournaments this season. Hicks carries a stroke average of 74.67, while Cronje sits at 75.60. Hicks is tied for 2nd on the team in par-or-better rounds with four, and has a club-best T-2 finish. Cronje is one of two Mavs (Zach Cole) with multiple rounds in the 60s this year.
 - Cox has completed nine rounds in three events for UTA this year and has a scoring average of 74.44. However, three of those nine rounds have been at, or below, par.
 - Jones has a 75.50 scoring average across 12 rounds this year. He is tied with Hicks for the 2nd-most par-or-better rounds with four.
 - Freshman Steinarsson led a group of six Mavs who competed last week as invidividuals at Dallas Baptist's Patriot Classic with a T-22 showing following rounds of 73-69-77: 219 (+3). He has a 75.83 scoring average over six rounds this season.
