NORMAN, Okla. – UT Arlington men's and women's outdoor track and field teams wrapped up the final day of Oklahoma's Sooner Invitational from the John Jacobs track complex on Saturday.
Randon Gray led the way for the Mavs as he took home the win in pole vault and set a new personal record with a vault of 4.95m.
Joel Bengtsson also took home a win in the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.34.
Liv Cantby gave the Mavs a second-place finish in javelin with a throw of 45.73m. That ranks #4 in program history. Cantby now holds the second, third, and fourth longest javelin throws in UTA program history, as a freshman.
Multiple Mavericks set new personal records on Saturday.
Mathilde Ruud finished third in the 1500m but brought home a new PR of 4:41.93.
Shelby West also finished with a third-place finish and a PR, but in 400m hurdles, with a time of 1:00.68. Another PR came from
DaVontay Kennedy in the 200m with a time of 21:40, he also finished third in the event.
Jade Bontke had a career best day in the heptathlon scoring 5,007 points. Over 1,000 points higher than her previous career best. She completed the final three events on Saturday including javelin (27.97m, 438), 800m (2:25.52, 750), and long jump (5.54m, 712)

The Mavs will next send a very select group of individuals to the Drake Relays this coming Friday and Saturday, Apr. 23-24, before their final team regular-season meet at Texas A&M's Alumni Muster on Saturday, May 1.
