WACO, Texas - Coming off a series win over Texas State this past weekend, the UT Arlington baseball team (12-15, 3-3 Sun Belt) will look to complete the season series sweep over Baylor (18-10, 1-5 Big 12) tomorrow night (April 6) at 6:30 p.m. at Baylor Ballpark.

UTA NOTES

• After going hitless in the 16 games played last season, Boone Montgomery has become the most reliable hitter for the Mavericks.  The junior leads the squad in batting average (.330), slugging percentage (.549), on base percentage (.430), hits (30) and doubles (7).
• The Mavericks return 90 percent of their innings pitched and 95 percent of their strikeouts from a season ago.
• Senior Josh Minjarez has been instrumental to the Mavericks scoring runs the last two weeks. The shortstop has accounted for 35 percent of the runs over the past two weeks, including two grand slams.
• Josh Minjarez is closing in on a couple records for UTA. He has played in the 6th most games in UTA history and is 11 shy of the record held by Darrell Preston (230, 2001-2004). His mark of 219 games played is also the 5th highest active mark in the country. He also has the 3rd most at-bats (777) and 9th most base hits (218), and 8th total bases (321) and home runs (21).
• The Mavericks scored 6 runs in the 8th inning on Saturday to overtake the Bobcats.  In the prior 25 games combined, UTA had only scored 6 total runs in the 8th inning.
• Dylan Paul has reached base in 16 straight games, the longest such streak of the season for the Mavericks. The streak also marks the longest of Paul's career, doubling his previous mark of six.

KNOW YOUR OPPONENT | BAYLOR

• The Bears are on a five-game winning streak, sweeping a four-game series over North Carolina A&T over the weekend and defeating Texas State last Tuesday.
• Baylor boasts one of the top offenses in the nation.  They rank second in the NCAA in hits (290) and eighth in batting average (.306)
• Jared McKenzie leads the nation in runs scored, crossing home plate 37 times this season.  He also has the 14th most total bases in the country with 71.
• Six of the nine qualifying Bears hold a batting average above .300.  Baylor is led by Cade Currington who bats .359 at the plate, while McKenzie is second on the team with a .352 average.
• The projected starter for the Bears - Luke Thompson - has appeared in one game this season and has not allowed a run through 1.2 innings pitched.  Hitters are averaging .167 against Thompson.

SERIES HISTORY
The Bears lead the all-time series over the Mavericks 87-35 dating back to 1973. UTA won the first match of the season 4-3 in Arlington earlier this season thanks to a walk-off RBI single from Cason Gregory in the 11th inning.
