HUNTSVILLE, Texas – The UT Arlington women's golf team wrapped up the opening day of Sam Houston's Bearkat Invitational on Monday from Elkins Lake Country Club as the Mavs sit in 8^th place after completing a 36-hole 607 total.

Heidrun Hlynsdottir paced the Mavs over the course of the two rounds as she sits in a tie for 6th place overall after rounds of 73 and 71 (+2 for the tournament).

- After 36 holes, Hlynsdottir is tied for the 2^nd-best par-3 scoring average in the field at 2.88 (-1).
- Both Murray and Hlynsdottir are tied for 4^th with six total birdies over the two rounds.
- Sam Houston leads the 14-team field with a 578 total through 36 holes just 6 shots shy of 1st is Grand Canyon (584).

UTA will wrap up tournament action in Huntsville with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
