Van Hook Releases 2023 Baseball Schedule

ARLINGTON, Texas – UTA baseball new skipper Clay Van Hook has announced the 2023 baseball schedule, and the 56-game slate includes 23 home games, 30 road games and 3 neutral site games.

"We are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead with the announcement of our 2023 schedule," said Van Hook. "Having the ability to play a challenging non-conference schedule was a priority of ours to prepare us for year one in the WAC."

The non-conference schedule for the Mavericks includes five teams who made regionals last season, with two of those teams advancing to the super regionals as well as making it to Omaha for the College World Series, with Oklahoma finishing as the runner up.

UTA will open the season on the road in Corpus Christi with a three-game series against Texas A&M – Corpus Christi (Feb. 17-19) before returning to Arlington to take on Dallas Baptist at Globe Life Field (Feb. 21). The following day, the Mavs will head to Fort Worth for a midweek matchup against TCU (Feb. 22).

The Mavericks then travel down to Stephenville for their first WAC series against Tarleton (Mar. 10-12) before rounding out the road trip with a two-game series at Texas Tech (Mar. 14-15).

The first home conference series for the Mavericks will be against Abilene Christian (Mar. 17-19) before welcoming Tarleton to Clay Gould Ball Park for a single non-conference game (Mar. 21).

UTA will then travel to Houston for a two-game series against Houston as well as two games against Northwestern at Houston's Schroeder Park (Mar. 24-26) before returning home for one game against TCU (Mar.28).

The Mavericks then travel to Washington to end March and begin April against conference foe Seattle U (Mar. 31 – Apr. 2) before returning home to host Lamar (Apr. 4) and a conference series against Utah Tech (Apr. 6-8).

UTA then embarks on their second longest road trip of the season as they travel to California for a conference series against Sacramento State (Apr. 14-16) before returning to Texas for a single game at Dallas Baptist (Apr. 18) followed by a road trip at Stephen F. Austin (Apr. 21-23).

The longest home stand of the season for the Mavericks will begin as they welcome Texas A&M – Corpus Christi to Clay Gould Ball Park for one game (Apr. 26) and then hosting two conference series against UT Rio Grande Valley (Apr. 28-30) and California Baptist (May 5-7).

The Mavericks will then travel south down I-35 for a showdown with the Texas Longhorns (May 9) before traveling to Huntsville for a conference series against Sam Houston (May 12-14).

UTA will then travel to Oklahoma for one game against the Sooners (May 16) before wrapping up conference play and the regular season with a home series against Utah Valley (May 18-20).
