BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Senior Jade Bontke did it again as she broke the school record in the pentathlon for the second consecutive weekend on Friday afternoon at the Charlie Thomas Invitational at Gilliam Indoor Stadium.

Bontke was terrific, finishing with 4,096 points, topping her previous mark of 4,043 a week ago as she first athlete to top 4,000 points in the event in school history.

Bontke's mark places her in ninth place nationally in the pentathlon at the end of the night.

Bontke finished second overall at A&M, including a first place finish in the high jump, going over 1.79m, which was good for 23rd in the nation this season. Bontke was second in the long jump at 5.97, fourth in the shot put at 11.17 and 800 at 2:25.27, and sixth in the 60 at 8.90.

Through four events in the heptathlon, freshman Brady Shadrick sits fifth overall with 2,737 points. He earned a fifth place finish in the high jump at 1.89. Senior Jorrdyn Dunn is eighth with a pair of fourth place finishes in the long jump at 6.70 and the shot put at 11.88.

UTA will return to action in a multitude of events throughout the day in sprints, distance, throws, and jumps. Things get rolling from Bryan-College Station at 12 p.m.
