ARLINGTON – The UT Arlington women's tennis team (4-0) will look to continue their undefeated streak to open the season, hosting UTPB on Sunday (Feb. 6) at 2 pm at the UTA Tennis Center.
The Mavericks have started out a combined 20-4 in their collective singles matches, including newcomers
Tara Gorinsek and
Sarina Reinertsen going a perfect 4-0 in their matches during opening weekend.
Ana Paula Jimenez went 3-0 last weekend and is tied with Reinertsen with 10 wins, including tournament play.
In doubles play, the Mavericks are 8-1 four matches into the season.
Carla Pons and
Nika Novikova are 3-0 on court three, helping lead the Mavericks to wins in all but one match. Paula Jimenez is 4-0 on the year on court two, winning two matches with both
Liz Chileno and
Momoka Horiguchi.
SCOUTING UTPB
This will be the first spring match for the Falcons after having two matches postponed this week. Last year, UTPB was 4-16 which included a 7-0 loss to UTA. The Mavericks are 2-0 against the Falcons all-time.
ON DECK
The Mavericks will have another week off before they host Southern Arkansas and UT Tyler next Sunday (Feb. 13) at the UTA Tennis Center.
